One of the best parts of our work is knowing that we’re harnessing the renewable power of the sun to generate change. So it’s especially rewarding when we get to talk with students about the benefits of solar energy, how solar works, and the impact it’s making on the world today and in the future.

Last week, our Chief Development Officer, John Motta, had the pleasure of visiting a fourth-grade classroom to talk with kids about solar energy. He covered the basics of how solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into electricity, and all the many places solar can be installed – from homes and schools to large industrial rooftops, on open land, and even floating on water.

The students showed their natural curiosity and enthusiastically asked John questions about solar – reminding us how powerful education can be in generating change.

To keep this conversation going with the curious kids in your life, please enjoy these free solar coloring sheets, solar word search and video below.
