Belimo Americas was looking to address rising annual energy costs as well as ambitious corporate sustainability goals at their U.S. headquarters in Danbury, CT. The Belimo Group, with international operations based in Switzerland, is a leading global manufacturer of innovative electrical actuator, valve, and sensor solutions for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technology. Belimo directly contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by incorporating the UN Global Compact principles into strategies, policies, and procedures. Belimo not only upholds its primary responsibilities to people and the planet but also sets the stage for long-term success in the HVAC industry.
With Dynamic Energy’s experience navigating Connecticut’s solar programs, we were able to design and install a solar system for Belimo that ensures that they promote environmental protection and offset grid-supplied electricity at their flagship LEED platinum facility in the U.S. This custom designed system is comprised of 2192 high-output solar modules and is expected to produce approximately 1.1 megawatts annually, enough to power 100 homes. The installation is one of the largest solar power installations in Connecticut and will meet 25% of the building’s electricity demand.
