Dynamic Energy recently completed a 2.6 MW ground-mounted solar array for Albany Broadcasting Company (WROW AM) in Albany County, NY. Dynamic Energy worked with Albany Broadcasting and the town of Bethlehem to take advantage of the otherwise unusable ground beneath the radio towers of the broadcasting company, and achieve a unique “dual use” and revenue generating opportunity for the land. The solar array sits on top of the underground antennae system of the radio station, and now serves the dual purpose of generating power and saving the company money.
The solar array will generate nearly 3,739,000 kWh of energy in its first year, and supply power to not only the on-site broadcasting center on-site but will supply power to multiple other Albany Broadcasting facilities in the area. The solar energy generated is enough to offset approximately 2,644 metric tons of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of removing 561 cars from New York roads.
