Dynamic Energy Completes 2MW Solar Project At Skidmore College

One of the Largest Solar Arrays in New York State
Dynamic Energy Solutions, LLC is pleased to announce the completion of a 2 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) project at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The system is one of the largest ground-mounted solar arrays in New York State.

Making The Grade & Saving The Environment
Dynamic Energy provided full turnkey services, including development, engineering, procurement and construction. The project comprises 6,950 ground-mounted solar panels spanning eight acres of land owned by Skidmore. The solar array will generate approximately 2,670,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually, enough to provide 11 percent of the college’s electricity and eliminate 1,841 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year. Washington Gas Energy Systems, Inc. will own and operate the 2 MW solar system and will sell all the electricity the system produces to Skidmore under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement.

“This installation responds to the pressing need for environmentally responsible, cost-effective energy for our campus operations, and it exemplifies our strategic commitment to sustainability,” said Philip A. Glotzbach, president of Skidmore College. “We are grateful for the support provided by Gov. Cuomo’s NY-Sun Initiative, without which this project would not have been possible.”

NY-Sun Project
The project received support from the NY-Sun Competitive PV Program through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). NY-Sun is a $1 billion initiative of Governor Andrew Cuomo to advance the scale-up of solar and move the state closer to having a sustainable, self-sufficient solar industry. The program provides financial support for the development of photovoltaic projects at customer sites that stabilize long-term electricity costs and generate no greenhouse gas emissions.

“The Dynamic Energy team congratulates Skidmore College on hosting this solar system,” said Michael Perillo, CEO of Dynamic. “The College’s support of renewable energy reflects a true dedication to the students, faculty and staff of Skidmore, as well as their community. We are proud to partner with Skidmore, NYSERDA and Washington Gas Energy Systems on this exceptional solar project.”
